I’m not diagnosed with diabetes, i don’t know if i’m going to. I took precaution because my father and both side grandparent had diabetes.
I aware of this at age 18 years. I change my life style after that.
I reduce fat and carb from my diet (include canned food n sugar), work out twice a week, stop smoking n drinking alcohol, sleep for 8 hours (except when i had a test/school exam), check my glucose blood level, cholesterol, renal function, at least once a year.
This day, i’m 30, my glucose blood level still normal, slight higher cholesterol, so at my birthday i had plan to stop eat seafood n beef meat.
Yes, my mother was type 2 diabetic. She was left under the impression, by her doctor (in the 1960s), that sugar was the cause. I quit taking in excess amounts of sugar ever since. Four years ago, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I have read quite a lot on diabetes, since then, and have learned that fat is far more likely a suspect in the diabetes equation than sugar. Also, lack of exercise is a significant contributor. So, if you have a genetic predisposition toward type 2 diabetes, and you don’t want to become diabetic, may I suggest that you eat a healthy diet low in fat, keep your weight down, and exercise regularly? This should minimize any chance that you might become diabetic.
i got diabetes when i was 7 my dad had it since he was 17 so we knew the risk factors. i did not listen very well and have suffered kidney failure and my left leg amputated. my dad on the other hand is 62 and is in great shape. i wished i would of followed is lead instead of doing my own thing.
