Hi My daughter has type 1 diabetes and is 8 years old. We live in beaverton oregon and I would like to start meeting other families who are dealing with the same issues. My husband & I think it would be great to set up play dates with other parents. Any ideas or knowlegde of day camps or groups would be great! Thanks

Talk to Lynn at Legacy Diabetes and Endocrin center. I went there for 12 years, and they have a great networking area. Lynn is a wonderful lady, and you can tell her Kimberly Green sent you her way. She will know who I am and hook you up. as for camps, i highly recommend Gales Creek Camp in forest grove. Its a week long camp for your child, and the best years of my life, and some of my best friends were met there.
